Your bookings must be covered by at least £5,000,000 public liability insurance.
We can provide this via Trafford Council when hiring the centre for personal and/or non-profit making reasons. You must tell us if you require this. We may assume this to be the case when individuals make a personal booking, unless you tell us otherwise.
Non-profit organisations or groups can provide us with evidence of their own public liability insurance if they wish.
When using the centre for profit making commercial ventures, you will need to provide us with evidence of your own public liability insurance - this must be a document showing the policyholder's name (either an individual or organisation), the dates of cover, and a minimum level of cover of £5 million. A photograph or scanned copy is acceptable.
Public liability insurance provided via Trafford Council is charged at an additional 10% of total room hire fees.
Humphrey Park Community Centre is available for children's parties (up to 12 years of age) and certain other social gatherings. Some additional arrangements apply, including volunteer availability and supervision requirements.
Please read our Parties & Social Gatherings page before making your booking.
Chairs and Tables
We provide plenty of chairs and folding tables for your event, which you are welcome to arrange to suit your needs. There is no additional charge for using them.
Chairs: Stored in each of the rooms.
Folding tables: Stored in the locations shown on the centre plan below.
Please ensure all fire exits remain completely clear at all times.
Other Equipment
To accommodate the wide variety of activities at the centre, we do not supply audio/visual or technical equipment (such as projectors, screens, microphones, or speakers). Hirers are responsible for bringing any additional equipment they require.
Wi-fi is not currently available at the centre. Mobile data coverage is good throughout the building, allowing hirers to connect via mobile hotspot if needed. (Please note that mobile network signal is outside of our control and cannot be guaranteed.)
We want The Centre to be accessible to everyone in the community. Here are the answers to the questions we have been asked regarding accessibility:
All rooms are on the ground floor.
Access to the centre is via the ramp at the main entrance porch.
In the event of an emergency, a ramp is available at the hall fire exit door closest to the stage - we advise that you make yourselves familiar with how this works if you think you might need it.
The entrance to all rooms is wide enough to allow for wheelchair access.
The accessible toilet is located on the main corridor, and is fitted with a National Key Scheme (RADAR) lock.
Of the 14 car parking spaces available, one is designated for the disabled.
Braille is provided on room name signs.
There is contrast between doors, walls and floors in order to make them easily distinguishable.
The halls in particular, benefit from plenty of natural light.
The car park is well lit at night during centre opening hours.
If there is anything else you need to know, or if you experience any accessibility issues, please do contact us to let us know.
